Aerial laser scanning (ALS) dataset, Montagne des Chevaux and Montagnes des Serpents, French Guiana, acquired on 1 October 2005
The aerial laser scanning (ALS) dataset, acquired on 1 october 2005, covers five plots of the Montagne des Chevaux and the Montagnes des Serpents areas in French Guiana. Each subsite is covered by one data file. The Z2 data area covers a spirotropis forest type area, the Z3 data area covers a riparian vegetation with Avicenia, and the Z4 data area covers a swamp forest.

- Statement
- 1. All data was acquired by Altoa flying a helicopter. The embarked system was composed of a scanning laser altimeter with a rotating mirror mechanism (Riegl LMS-Q 140i-60), a GPS receiver coupled to a second GPS receiver on the ground and an inertial measurement unit to record pitch, roll and heading of the aircraft. The wave length used was 905 nm (NIR). The laser recorded the last reflected pulse. The mean point density is 5 points/m² for zone Z2, 4 points/m² for zones Z1, Z3 and Z5, and 3 points/m² for zone Z4. 2. Delivrance of the data in x, y, z., time and intensity (or return pulse) 3. There seems to be a problem with the georeferencing of the data. 3. The data are stored in \\forestview01\BDLidar\Données Lidar\Mt Serpent-Chevaux\. 4. Various further processing steps were carried out. Please get in touch with a point of contact
