Aerial laser scanning (ALS) dataset, Paracou, French Guiana, acquired on 26 September 2011.
The aerial laser scanning (ALS) dataset acquired on 26th September 2011 covers part of the Paracou experimental station in French Guiana. Plots entirely covered include Paracou 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14. Plots 3, 6, 13, and 15 are partially covered by the data. The area includes both natural unlogged forest and logged over forest.

- Statement
- 1. All data was acquired by Altoa flying an airplane at around 600m above ground level. The embarked system was composed of a scanning laser altimeter with a rotating mirror mechanism (Riegl LMS-Q560 multiecho). The wave length used was 1550 nm (NIR). The scanning angle was +/- 20°. The laser recorded the multiecho reflected pulse with a nominal precision of 0.1 meters. The mean point density is 9 points/m². Spatial heterogeneity is large (four roughly parallel flight lines of which three are adjacent with very little overlap. The fourth dublicates the central flight line) 2. Date delivered in las format 3. The tiled data are stored in \\forestview01\BDLidar\ALS\Paracou\2011\. 4. Various further processing steps were carried out. Please get in touch with a point of contact.
