Aerial laser scanning (ALS) dataset, Crique Plomb and Montagne Plomb, French Guiana, acquired in October 2004.
The aerial laser scanning (ALS) dataset, acquired in October 2004, covers five plots of Crique Plomb and Montagne Plomb area in French Guiana. In this area. the forest presents contrasting and diversified characteristics : high forest, forest grown on ferricrust, and superficial saprolit with high density of stem per hectare. Ground echoes are available as well as a digital terrain model (DTM), a digital surface model (DSM), and a digital canopy model (DCM) with a 1 meter resolution.

- Statement
- 1. All data was acquired by Altoa flying a helicopter. The embarked system was composed of a scanning laser altimeter with a rotating mirror mechanism (RIEGL LMS-Q 140i-60). The wave length used was 905 nm (NIR). The laser recorded last reflected pulse. The data concerning subsites A. B and D have a points density between 4 and 6 points/m². The data concerning subsites C and E (10 hectares) (High Density) have a mean point density of 16 points/m² . 2. Delivrance of the data in time, x, y, z, intensity. 3. The data are stored in \\forestview01\BDLidar\Données Lidar\Montagne Plomb\2004\Données brutes. 4. Various further processing steps were carried out. Please get in touch with a point of contact
