This landscape dataset was built using Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data with full resolution (1 arc sec ~ 30m). This map aims at evaluating the geodiversity of natural areas. Twelve landscape types into 5 main categories have been identied with respect to Migon's typology (2006): the coastal plains landscapes (AA. AB. AC); the typical multi-convex landscapes (B. I. J); the multi-concave and joint-valley landscapes (C.D); the more or less dissected plateau (E.F.G) and the all-slopes topography (H). The map was produced at the request of the French Guianan public forest manager of the Office National des Forêts (ONF).

The dataset (TRMM 3B43) comprises monthly rainfall datas (mm/hr) acquired during the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) since 1998. The TRMM algorithm 3B42 provides adjusted 3-hour cumulative estimates of rain using merged microwave and infrared (IR) precipitation information.

A seamless, uniform mosaic derived from 2.5-m Spot 5 satellite imagery, providing a nationwide or regional basemap for French Guiana. The images were acquired from 4 September 2007 to 16 November 2007 and 16 July 2008 to 2 November 2008. The colour basemap offers high geometric accuracy. The estimated horizontal precision is about 10 meters. The colours faithfully reflect true landscape colours. Suitable for working at scales up to 1:10 000.

Dataset downloadable for free on the website of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research - Consortium for Spatial Information (CGIAR-CSI). The SRTM digital elevation data provided on this site has been processed to fill data voids, and to facilitate it’s ease of use by a wide group of potential users. Digital elevation models (DEM) for the entire globe, covering all of the countries of the world, are available for download on this site. The SRTM 90m DEM’s have a resolution of 90m at the equator, and are provided in mosaiced 5 deg x 5 deg tiles for easy download and use. All are produced from a seamless dataset to allow easy mosaicing. These are available in both ArcInfo ASCII and GeoTiff format to facilitate their ease of use in a variety of image processing and GIS applications. Data can be downloaded using a browser or accessed directly from the ftp site.

This landform dataset was built using Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data with full resolution (1 arc sec ~ 30m). This map aims at evaluating the geodiversity of natural areas. Classes correspond to different types of landforms. Taking into account data accuracy, we recommend using the landform map for scales beyond 1: 100 000 to 1: 250 000. The map was produced at the request of the French Guianan public forest manager of the Office National des Forêts (ONF).

The dataset estimates the carbon density (Mg C ha−1) of aboveground live woody vegetation for the pan-tropics (including tropical Africa, America and Asia) at a spatial resolution of 500 m using a combination of remote sensing and field data (for the period 2007–2008). Specifically, we used satellite-based light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data acquired at a nominal spatial resolution of 70 m together with 500 m multispectral surface reflectance imagery and other geospatial data layers.
